EBI: For Q1, you need to answer the question – what is a convention? It is a typical feature – and then your magazine cover example is perfect (masthead or title is acceptable). You also need to keep an eye on your written English – you start almost every sentence in Q2 with ‘Also…’ which is not ideal in an exam. Try slowing down and making in-depth points that really explore the potential connotations and what is being communicated to the audience. For Q3, you write about reputation rather than representation – instead, you need to focus on how stereotypes are being reinforced or challenged in the media product.
